Harry P is a self-taught photographer who chronicled late seventies and early eighties popular music for the magazines of the time in his own inimitable style. In particular, he was one of a very few photographers to capture the explosion of influential music coming from Scotland at the time, often in intimate, informal settings.

Across the winter of 2011/2012, Street Level Gallery in Glasgow presented an exhibition of Harry's photographs, which was a wild success. His hidden-away archive has now been catalogued and preserved by the curators of Street level with the help of Ken McCluskey.

This book is a flavour of that archive, and we're delighted to have it for sale on the AED shop. Harry took many photos of Orange Juice and Edwyn over the years. He, Edwyn and Robert Sharp, another Scottish photographer with a unique stamp, shared a house in north-west London, which Jon Savage describes vividly in a foreword to the book.
